DAY 1: Arrival, Concepción Trails & Twilight River
Navigating to the Lodge
Upon arriving at Puerto Maldonado Airport, you will be welcomed by our staff and escorted to the river port. Begin your adventure with a scenic 25-minute motorized boat ride navigating the Madre de Dios River. Upon reaching Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción, settle into your stilted wooden cabaña or Superior Room on our private eco-reserve before enjoying lunch in the palm-thatched Casa Grande dining room.
The Concepción Trails & Twilight Cruise
Start your exploration from the Eco Center, walking along the Concepción Trails through primary and secondary rainforests. At dusk, embark on a guided Twilight River boat ride—witnessing the transition as daytime animals give way to nocturnal species while spotting white caimans along the riverbanks.

DAY 2: Lake Sandoval & Canopy Walkway
The Glassy Waters of Lake Sandoval
After an early breakfast, hike a sun-dappled rainforest trail into the Tambopata National Reserve. Boarding a wooden dugout canoe, you will silently glide onto Lake Sandoval—a mirror-like oxbow lake that is home to endangered giant river otters, red howler monkeys, red-bellied macaws, hoatzins, and black caimans. Return to the lodge for lunch.
The Inkaterra Canopy Walkway & Night Safari
In the afternoon, ascend the exhilarating Inkaterra Canopy Walkway. Climb a 38-meter (124 ft) tower to traverse a 344-meter network of seven suspension bridges strung between treetop platforms, keeping an eye out for toucans, trogons, monkeys, and sloths. After dark, venture out on the "Hidden Forest" night walk armed with flashlights to discover nocturnal rainforest species.

DAY 3: Bio-Orchard, Palmetum, Cocha Lagoon & Inland Collpa
Organic Bio-Orchard & The 30-Hectare Palmetum
After breakfast, discover native tropical plants and their ancestral medicinal uses by visiting our organic bio-orchard. Later, continue to the 30-hectare Palmetum—a botanical sanctuary containing over 19 native Amazonian palm species dedicated to rainforest restoration and ecological research.
Private Oxbow Lagoon & Catch-and-Release Piranha Fishing
Following lunch at Casa Grande, enjoy a paddle canoe ride on Hacienda Concepción's private oxbow lagoon (cocha). Row past the atmospheric wreck of the Fitzcarrald-era steamboat to spot hoatzins, flycatchers, and caimans, and use a traditional wooden rod to practice catch-and-release piranha fishing.
The Inland Collpa (Mammal & Bird Clay Lick)
In the late afternoon, visit the reserve's Inland Collpa. From a concealed observation blind, quietly watch a natural mineral clay lick where forest mammals and birds gather to consume mineral-rich soil.

DAY 4: Departure from Hacienda Concepción
Farewell to the Amazon
Enjoy your final morning waking to the symphony of the rainforest. Following breakfast in the Casa Grande, embark on your motorized wooden boat for the 25-minute return navigation along the Madre de Dios River to Puerto Maldonado Airport for your onward flight.

- Riverboat Luggage Allowance: For safety on the motorized canoes, please pack only necessary items in a small duffel bag or carry-on backpack (max 10kg). Large suitcases will be safely stored at the Inkaterra lounge in Puerto Maldonado.
