Terms & Conditions
Transparent, uncompromising standards ensuring clarity and peace of mind for your bespoke Andean journey.
Welcome to Luxury Machu Picchu. We pride ourselves on delivering flawlessly executed, bespoke travel experiences. To maintain our rigorous standards of service and ensure mutual understanding, we require all our esteemed clients to review and accept the following Terms and Conditions prior to confirming their itinerary. By rendering a deposit, you formally agree to these protocols.
1. Bespoke Itinerary Design & Booking Protocols
Because each journey we craft is entirely customized, securing elite accommodations, expert private guides, and exclusive experiences (such as the Belmond Hiram Bingham train or luxury Amazon cruises) requires advanced planning and immediate financial commitment to our partners.
- Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 40% of the total itinerary cost is required to secure your reservations. Due to the high demand for luxury services in Peru, bookings cannot be guaranteed until this deposit is received and cleared.
- Final Payment: The remaining balance must be settled no later than 60 days prior to your arrival date. For bookings made within 60 days of travel, full payment is required immediately upon confirmation.
2. Cancellation and Refund Policies
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may alter your travel plans. However, because our bespoke itineraries involve strict, non-refundable commitments to premium third-party vendors (boutique hotels, private rail services, and strict government permits for Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail), our cancellation policies must reflect these obligations.
- Cancellations received 61 days or more prior to arrival: The 40% deposit is forfeited.
- Cancellations received 31 to 60 days prior to arrival: 70% of the total trip cost is forfeited.
- Cancellations received 30 days or less prior to arrival: 100% of the total trip cost is forfeited.
All cancellation requests must be submitted to your dedicated travel concierge in writing via email. We highly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to protect your investment.
3. Comprehensive Travel Insurance
To ensure your absolute peace of mind, Luxury Machu Picchu mandates that all clients possess comprehensive travel insurance valid for the duration of their journey. This insurance must cover trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical evacuation, and repatriation. We will not be held liable for any financial losses incurred due to trip cancellation or medical emergencies.
4. Itinerary Modifications & Force Majeure
While we meticulously plan every detail of your journey, Peru's dramatic geography and occasional social dynamics mean that unforeseen events (weather conditions, strikes, natural disasters, or government regulations) may necessitate immediate changes to your itinerary.
In such instances, Luxury Machu Picchu reserves the right to modify the itinerary or substitute accommodations and services. We guarantee that any substitution will be of equal or superior luxury standard. In cases of Force Majeure, we will deploy our 24/7 concierge resources to minimize disruption, but we are not liable for compensation regarding missed services due to events beyond our control.
5. Passports, Visas, and Health Requirements
It is the sole responsibility of the client to ensure they possess a valid passport (with at least 6 months validity from the date of entry into Peru) and any necessary visas. Furthermore, as many of our signature destinations are located at high altitudes (Cusco, Lake Titicaca), it is the client's responsibility to consult with a medical professional regarding high-altitude travel and vaccinations prior to departure.
6. Assumption of Risk & Limitation of Liability
Travel inherently involves certain risks, particularly in remote or adventurous regions. Luxury Machu Picchu acts exclusively as an agent for the independent suppliers who provide your hotel accommodations, transportation, and other services. We assume no liability for any injury, damage, loss, or delay caused by the actions or omissions of these third-party suppliers, nor for risks inherent to travel.
7. Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Peru. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Cusco, Peru.
