Experience the Andes Beyond the Crowds

While most visitors only experience the highest navigable lake in the world through hurried day trips, this exclusive 2-day private expedition invites you to truly disconnect and absorb the profound tranquility of Lake Titicaca. By spending the night on Taquile Island, you are granted the rare privilege of wandering its ancient pathways in total peace after the daytime crowds have departed, allowing for a deeply genuine cultural exchange with the local community.

Your journey begins with a private navigation to the unique Uros Floating Islands, where you will glide across the water in a traditional hand-woven totora reed canoe. Continuing to Taquile, you will be welcomed at a private Cultural Immersion Bay for a spectacular local lunch. In the evening, you will settle into a cozy, traditional island hut, enjoying home-cooked Andean cuisine under a canopy of southern stars. The true luxury of this tour reveals itself the next morning: waking up to a breathtaking, unobstructed sunrise over the vast sapphire expanse of Lake Titicaca before exploring the island's pre-Incan agricultural terraces and participating in authentic daily activities.

Insights

Essential details for your overnight island retreat.

The true value of this tour is its authenticity. You will sleep in traditional island huts hosted by local families. They are very clean, cozy, and provided with plenty of warm blankets. However, they are rustic—electricity is limited and hot showers may not be available. It is a beautiful opportunity to disconnect.
For ease of travel on the boat and during the island hikes, you should only pack a small overnight backpack with your essentials (clothes, toiletries, camera). Your heavy, large suitcases can be safely stored at your hotel in Puno until you return on Day 2.
Not a problem at all. While freshly caught lake trout is the traditional centerpiece, the host families are excellent cooks and can easily prepare hearty vegetarian, vegan, or chicken alternatives using local quinoa and potatoes. Just let us know in your booking notes.
