Caral is located 209 kilometers (130 miles) north of Lima. The drive takes approximately 3.5 to 4 hours each way. Because of the long distance, we utilize premium, spacious, climate-controlled vehicles to guarantee your absolute comfort during the journey.
The archaeological complex is vast and lacks shaded areas. You should expect about 1.5 to 2 hours of walking over flat, sandy, and unpaved desert terrain. Comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes and excellent sun protection are mandatory.
The Supe Valley is an arid desert environment. During the day, it is typically very sunny, dry, and hot, regardless of the season in Lima. However, the coastal stop in Huacho and Bandurria can be breezier. Dressing in comfortable layers is highly recommended.
