Day 1
Cusco - South Valley of Cusco
Day 1
South Valley of Cusco
In the morning, your private driver and guide will meet you at your hotel and take you to the South Valley of Cusco, just as beautiful as the Sacred Valley, but less crowded and with its own charm. The first point of interest will be the archeological site of Tipón, where you will have the opportunity to admire its terraces, water channels and general architecture. Then, we will go on to visit the adobe-brick built Pikillacta, the only pre-Incan site that remains in the area of Cusco. After Pikillacta, we will head to Andahuaylillas Church, also known as the Andean Sistine Chapel. Here, you will be amazed by the 16th, 17th and 18th century mural paintings and altars, completely decorated in gold. Finally, we will head back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel so you may enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure.
If you wish, you may request to add a visit to the handcrafts market in Pisaq, just let us know!
